Community Care latest provider in region to offer doctor visits via cellphone

Community Care Physicians is the latest to enter the game, launching an iPhone app last month called Virtual Care, or VICA. The multispecialty group hopes to expand medical care for current patients and reach new ones with a telemedicine service connected to a regional network of 37 bricks-and-mortar doctors’ offices, said Dr. Rommel Tolentino of the group’s Schodack office. That model distinguishes VICA from other available services and allows patients to be directed to a physical office within the same practice for follow-up visits.
